Overview
The IAAM Code of Conduct defines the principles, standards, and expectations for all members, partners, speakers, volunteers, and participants engaged in IAAM activities.
It ensures that IAAM remains a respectful, ethical, inclusive, and professionally governed global community.
All individuals and institutions associated with IAAM are required to comply with this Code.

IAAM is guided by the following principles:

Scope of Application
This Code applies to:
• IAAM members (individual and institutional)
• Fellows and Honorary Members
• Event participants, speakers, reviewers, and volunteers
• Partners, sponsors, and collaborators
• Activities conducted online, in person, or through IAAM platforms
Professional Conduct
All participants must:
• Behave professionally in IAAM meetings, events, and communications
• Respect different viewpoints, cultures, and backgrounds
• Avoid harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or offensive behavior
• Refrain from disruptive or inappropriate conduct
IAAM maintains a zero-tolerance policy for harassment or discrimination.
Scientific & Academic Integrity
Members are expected to:
• Present accurate, honest, and original research
• Properly acknowledge contributions and sources
• Avoid plagiarism, data fabrication, or manipulation
• Disclose conflicts of interest where relevant
Scientific misconduct undermines trust and may result in disciplinary action.
Ethical Use of IAAM Name & Affiliation
Members must:
• Use IAAM name, logos, titles, and membership status responsibly
• Avoid false claims of endorsement or representation
• Not misuse IAAM affiliation for commercial, political, or misleading purposes
Any public use of IAAM branding must comply with IAAM guidelines.
Conflicts of Interest
Participants should:
• Disclose any real or perceived conflicts of interest
• Avoid situations where personal or institutional interests compromise integrity
• Act in the best interest of the IAAM community
Data Protection & Confidentiality
Members must:
• Respect the confidentiality of unpublished research, reviews, and discussions
• Handle personal data responsibly and in compliance with applicable laws
• Avoid unauthorized sharing of sensitive or proprietary information
Safety & Compliance
Participants must:
• Follow applicable laws, regulations, and venue rules
• Comply with health, safety, and security requirements during IAAM activities
• Respect local regulations during international events
Reporting Concerns
IAAM encourages reporting of:
• Violations of this Code
• Unethical or unprofessional behavior
• Harassment or discrimination incidents
Reports can be submitted confidentially to the IAAM Membership Office or designated IAAM authority. IAAM will review reports fairly and discreetly.
Enforcement & Consequences
IAAM may take appropriate action in response to violations, including:
• Warning or formal notice
• Suspension or termination of membership
• Removal from IAAM events, roles, or platforms
• Revocation of titles, honors, or privileges
Decisions are made to protect the integrity and safety of the IAAM community.
Amendments
IAAM reserves the right to update this Code of Conduct as needed.
Revisions will be communicated through official IAAM channels.
